Research Competition

Submit a response to the following question in no more than 1,000 words, either as a research paper or as a trade idea:

Evaluate the short and long-term consequences of the recent US-Iran conflict on the oil market.

Whether you write a research paper or a trade idea, your written submission must be accompanied by a video presentation of up to two minutes, in which you talk through your response to the question.
The strongest entries will be played for attendees at our student event on 23rd July 2026. The winner of both our trading competition and research competition will be announced at the event - with one winning the £1,000 prize.

Our research interns learn teamwork dynamics, analytical competencies, and presentation skills. This immersive 4-week experience equips participants with the tools necessary for a successful career in finance and commodities research.
